At approximately 4:00 p.m., four girls and two boys, all between the ages of 5-16, were riding on a four-seat ATV when it crashed and overturned for reasons unknown. All occupants were ejected from the vehicle, and the ATV rolled on top of a 5-year-old boy and 7-year-old girl.
A man in a wheelchair was flown to the hospital Tuesday night after being hit by a hit-and-run driver. The crash occurred when a 50-year-old man was crossing Highway 6 in his wheelchair, in the cross walk, when he was hit by an unidentified vehicle.
A 4-year-old girl lost consciousness after she hit her head in the pool. Family and friends were close by to give the girl CPR but she was brought to Memorial Hermann Hospital as a precaution. She remains at the hospital recovering.
A jet ski was pulling a tube with two people on it when it either stalled or was turned off and he lost control of the steering. The driver crashed into the two people on the tube, sending them off of it. One was recovered and CPR was performed.
The ATV crash occurred around 4:38 p.m. at the 3 Palms Action Sports Park on Interstate 45. "A.J." Allen Martin Jeffrey Gilbert, from Hartsel, Colorado, attempted a jump on a dirt track, landed incorrectly, and the vehicle landed on Gilbert.
Cothren was transported to North Cypress Medical Center, but he died of his injuries.
A worker attempting to repair an underground cable has reportedly died overnight in a Brazoria County trench collapse.
The accident happened about 9:15 p.m. Feb. 7 near Almeda School Road and Croix.
