The incident occurred about 11:30 p.m. at 8700 Cullen near Knoxville, according to the Houston Police Department.

A 64-year-old man was walking at 8700 Cullen when he was hit by a blue Volkswagen Beetle. The man died at the scene. Police officers saw the Beetle speed away and were able to stop and detain the driver. The case remains under investigation.
