Driver loses control, crashes into two trees.

Police: crash possibly due to wet roads.

A driver was taken to the hospital in serious condition after crashing into two trees in Sugar Land.

Around 3:15 a.m. Thursday, police said a man was driving a Toyota west on Lexington when he lost control in a curve near Creekside, possibly due to the wet road.

According to reports, the car hit two trees before coming to a stop on the side of the road.

Officials said the driver, who is in his 50s, was airlifted to the hospital in serious but stable condition.

Sugar Land police said they believe speed and wet driving conditions played roles in the crash.

The driver's name was not immediately released.
