Two injured in plane crash on private air park outside Fredericksburg, officials say.

A Cessna 305 reportedly crashed on a private air park near Fredericksburg, Texas, around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Ricky Friedrich, owner of the River Ranch said a Dr. Zullo, a resident of Silver Wings Fly-In Ranch, crashed his "light-weight plane" into a cattle fence near Aviation Loop..

Friedrich told KENS 5 the victim was transported to an area hospital with a broken leg and other injuries. A passenger, Bob Snowden, was also airlifted for his injuries.

Friedrich said the two men were conducting practice rounds in the aircraft.

Snowden is a flight instructor from Fredericksburg and Zullo is a retired physician from New Jersey, Friedrich said.

A witness at the scene said the plane was a Cessna 305, which is commonly called "The Bird Dog." The plane was used for reconnaissance during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

The Cessna 305 has two seats and is popular among pilots who refurbish older aircraft.
