Police are searching for a vehicle that slammed into a motorcyclist last month on the South Side and fled the scene.
Police are searching for a vehicle that slammed into a motorcyclist last month on the South Side and fled the scene. Guillermo Nieto, 64, was riding his motorcycle near the interchange of North Loop 1604 and U.S. 281 at about 12:30 p.m. Feb. 1 when he was struck, according to police. The suspect, who has not been identified, was exiting a turnaround from southbound U.S. 281 to northbound U.S. 281 when the vehicle crossed a solid white line and entered Nieto's lane, according to a Texas Department of Transportation report. The collision caused Nieto to lay down his bike, resulting in damages and injuries. After the wreck, the driver fled the scene. The suspect vehicle is described as a silver Nissan SUV, possibly an Xterra, with disabled veteran license plates and possible damage to the front passenger area.
