Alcohol-related crash kills one, injures four.

A man is dead and four others were taken to the hospital after an overnight wreck on the city's northwest side.

San Antonio police said alcohol may have played a factor in the crash, which took place around 1:30 a.m. at West Hausman Road and Loop 1604.

According to police, a silver vehicle sitting at a stoplight was rear-ended by a maroon car speeding down Hausman. Investigators believe the man may have been speeding near 100 miles per hour when the crash occurred.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that the driver of the silver vehicle, a man, was killed. His female passenger was taken to University Hospital, according to KSAT. The driver of the maroon vehicle and two of his passengers were also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police are investigating.
