Sixteen-year-old killed by train was student at MacArthur High School

Mark Farley, 16, had his headphones in when he was fatally hit by the northbound train, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

SAN ANTONIO -- Authorities have released the identity of the teen who was struck and killed by a train Thursday while walking along the tracks.

Mark Farley, 16, had his headphones in when he was fatally hit by the northbound train, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Aubrey Chancellor with the North East Independent School District confirmed Friday that Farley was a student at MacArthur High School. An assistant principal from MacArthur was called to the scene of the accident around 11 a.m. Thursday to try to help identify the body; however, they were not able to positively do so.

The accident happened in north San Antonio, at the corner of Empire and Savoy, near Loop 410 and Highway 281 around 9 a.m.
