A person was struck and killed by a train in Selma Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

At around 1:20 p.m. near Loop 1604 and Lookout Road, a 17-year-old male was struck and killed by a train. The victim was apparently trying to run across the tracks. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
