The bus had left Carvajal Early Childhood Education Center when the accident happened. Another bus was sent to the scene to take the children home.
SAISD school bus fatally strikes pedestrian near downtown San Antonio
A man was struck and killed by a SAISD school bus while walking on a sidewalk in the 400 block of San Pedro Avenue on April 23, 2015.
The bus was traveling north on San Pedro Avenue when it hit and killed a man in his 60s on Thursday afternoon. The female driver told authorities she had seen the man on the sidewalk, and then felt a bump. She stopped and saw the man lying in the street. He was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The unidentified driver has been with SAISD for more than six years. None of the three children who on the bus was injured.
