4 killed in head-on crash, explosion
Witnesses told San Antonio police the driver of a SUV was speeding in the northbound lanes of the 13700 block of Applewhite Road.
Police said the driver hit another car, spun out, hit a median and ended up in the southbound lanes.

Witnesses told police the car was speeding and traveling erratically northbound on Applewhite Road, on the South Side, when it nicked another vehicle, lost control, hit the median, possibly went airborne and hit an 18-wheeler that was heading southbound.

Family members say three of the four victims of Friday night's collision on Applewhite Road are Steve Garcia, 34, Melinda Rodriguez, 27, and Aliza Maldonado, 8. Maldonado was one of Rodriguez's children.
