Samuel Oliver Lucky, 73, killed, and Pamela Rickman Lucky, 57, injured in small plane crash in Upshur County, Texas

Family members alerted law enforcement when the plane failed to keep its 7 p.m. scheduled arrival at Fox Stephens Field- Gilmer Municipal Airport. Law enforcement are responding to the scene of a fatal single-engine airplane crash late Tuesday in Upshur County. The aircraft crashed less than a quarter-mile from the runway. FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford said investigators are on their way to the crash site and the National Transportation Safety Board has been notified. DPS confirmed the pilot, Samuel Oliver Lucky, 73, was killed and his passenger, Pamela Rickman Lucky 57, was transported to a Tyler hospital in critical condition.
