WFPD investigating deadly crash on Loop 11
The accident took place around 12:40 p.m. on the bridge that goes over the Wichita River on Loop 11 near a veterinary clinic. Sgt. Harold McClure said early reports indicate the 2014 Chevy Impala struck a pole.
WFPD releases name of crash victim
Witnesses at the scene say the car was traveling south in the center and right lanes near N. Beverly when it drifted right at the intersection and hit a traffic light pole. The car appears to have spun 360 degrees at least once after hitting the light pole.
