Seat belt use made the difference in I-70 crash injuries

A 2-year-old boy, secured in a child seat, received only a small head cut. Troopers said that the male driver, who was wearing his seat belt, escaped with minor injuries. Sunday, a pickup truck blew a tire while traveling west on the highway, about 60 miles east of Green River. The Utah Highway Patrol's oft-stated urging of motorists to use their seat belts was underscored by a single-vehicle injury crash on Interstate 70 over the weekend. A 5-year-old girl, not belted in the back seat, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
