While Rowley, an Oak City resident, was picking up the item, a vehicle turned onto 1000 West and began driving northbound toward Rowley.

Shay Olson Rowley, was traveling southbound on 1000 West when he stopped and walked into the middle of road to retrieve an item that had flown out of his truck. As he began to move out of the road, he was struck by a large truck that was traveling southbound and pronounced dead on site. No charges have yet been filed and there is no suspicion of drugs of alcohol being involved.
