Near white-out conditions northeastern Utah’s Highway 89 are suspected to have contributed to a head-on crash that killed a woman and sent at least one other person to the hospital late Monday morning.

The Utah Highway Patrol is reporting that a fatal crash has accrued north east of Garden City, Utah on SR-89 near milepost 495.

Near white-out conditions northeastern Utah’s Highway 89 are suspected to have contributed to a head-on crash that killed a woman and sent at least one other person to the hospital late Monday morning.
A Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. said blowing, heavy snowfall made visibility a challenge when the 10:38 a.m. crash occurred on Highway 89, about 5 miles west of Garden City in Rich County.
UHP said the woman died at the scene. At least one person in the second vehicle was transported to Logan Regional Hospital in unspecified condition.
UPDATE: Becky L. Green has been identified as the fatality in this accident.
