60 year-old woman injured, taken to hospital, after a two car crash at an intersection in Layton.

A 60-year-old woman was injured Friday morning when she was ejected during a two-car crash in a Layton intersection.

The accident occurred at about 11:30 a.m. when a Chevrolet Prizm turned left in front of on oncoming Chevrolet Tahoe at Hill Field Road from Main Street, said Layton police Sgt. James Petre.

The woman, a passenger in the Prizm, was not wearing a seatbelt. She was ejected and ended up beneath the rear bumper of the Prizm, although the car’s wheels never rolled over her, Petre said.

People at the scene pushed the car away from the woman, who was conscious and able to speak to arriving officers, said Petre, adding that her injures were not life-threatening.

Petre stressed that everyone else involved in the crash, including some small children, suffered bruises, at most, because they were belted in.
