UHP: Man killed in SR-191 head-on crash was from La Sal

The Utah Highway Patrol has identified a man killed in a head-on crash with a semi-trailer rig in Grand County. UHP Sgt. Todd Royce said that Stephen Barnett, 68, of La Sal, was killed when he attempted to pass a slow-moving southbound truck on State Road 191, 10 miles south of Moab, and collided with a northbound semi about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Barnett was dead at the scene; his passenger escaped with non-life threatening injuries.

La Sal man dies in head-on crash on U.S. 191

Barnett was killed upon impact. A passenger in the Durango was flown to a hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado, with non-life-threatening injuries, UHP investigators said. The occupants of the semi truck received minor injuries.
