Corvette driver killed, passenger injured in St. George car crash

“The Corvette went airborne as it crossed the threshold of the River Road structure and then collided with the guardrail on the right," a police statement said. "The front end of the Corvette became lodged under the guardrail and slid approximately 200 feet.”

Driver killed in St. George Corvette crash identified

The driver of a Corvette who died after launching his vehicle into the air while traveling at a high rate of speed, crashing into a guard rail, has been identified.
A driver is dead and his passenger critically injured after a car accident on State Route 7 Saturday afternoon. The crash occured just after 4 p.m. on the highway leading to and from the St. George Municipal Airport. A 32-year-old man was driving a white Corvette west “at a high right of speed” before the accident. The driver died at the scene; his 27-year-old passenger was sent to Dixie Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Both driver and passenger were wearing seat belts. The highway is shut down at River Road as troopers investigate the accident.
