A man was arrested follow a hit-and-run accident early Thursday morning.

A man was arrested follow a hit-and-run accident early Thursday morning.

Police say at 12:57am they received reports of a car that had crashed into a power pole at 4928 S. 1130 West. When police arrived on scene, police discovered the driver had fled the scene, and that the car, a BMW, had been stolen.

Police set up a containment perimeter and were able to locate the suspect, Ezra Barlow, 31, as he was seen jumping fencers in the neighborhood. A K9 unit was used to track Barlow down. Barlow was said to be noncompliant, and a K9 was deployed. The K9 bit the suspect on the leg and held him until officers could arrest the suspect near 4800 S. 1609 West.

Barlow faces charges of hit and run, possession of a stolen vehicle, and failure to stop at the command of an officer. Barlow also had two additional outstanding felony warrants.
