Trooper Hawkes with the Utah Highway Patrol confirmed two medical helicopters have been dispatched to the scene of the crash, which occurred around 7 p.m. on westbound I-80 near 5600 West.

Mason said the male driver, who was accompanied by a female passenger, "both around 30 (years old)," rolled over. Both sustained "fairly serious injuries," but the driver's condition appeared to be more severe, he said. The woman's injuries were not life-threatening.
