Two bicyclist from Salt Lake City were injured in Zion National Park when they crashed their bikes in the Zion-Mt Carmel Tunnel Friday afternoon.
Two bicyclist from Salt Lake City were injured in Zion National Park when they crashed their bikes in the Zion-Mt Carmel Tunnel Friday afternoon. The two cyclist apparently hit the tunnel wall and crashed. A 51-year-old male from West Jordan suffered serious injuries in the wreck and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with head trauma. The second cyclist sideswiped the tunnel wall, tearing his shirt in the process. He refused medical attention, according to a press release from Zion National Park. The two bicyclists were part of a 12 person group who had arranged for a shuttle to take them to the other side of the tunnel.
