Two in serious condition after West Valley City crash.
A two-vehicle accident Saturday in West Valley City left a couple in serious condition after police say their vehicle appeared to have run a red light.
West Valley City police Lt. Dalan Taylor said a 66-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman were the occupants of a Saturn four-door sedan, traveling north on Decker Lake Boulevard, when they were struck about 10 a.m. by a westbound Chevy Blazer at the intersection with Parkway Boulevard.
The wife "took most of the impact" and is listed in serious condition at Pioneer Valley Hospital, but Taylor said she did regain consciousness at the scene. Her husband has lacerations and is unable to remember the accident.
Taylor said both were speaking and undergoing standard scans for injuries as of Saturday afternoon.
The lone occupant of the Blazer, a 25-year-old man, suffered minor whiplash.
