Vermont State Police said the crashes happened Friday morning between Exits 11 and 15. There were at least eight separate crashes in a one-hour period. One person was taken to the hospital with a back injury.

Police said U.S. 7 in the Pittsford and Brandon area are very slippery, as is U.S. 4 from the town of Rutland to the New York State line in Fair Haven.
