The Hartland fire chief says the man's family became concerned when he did not return home Wednesday night.

First responders from the Hartland Volunteer Fire Department, Hartland Rescue, and Hartford Ambulance raced to the scene and attempted CPR, but 45 minutes after the initial call to 911 a paramedic on the scene determined the efforts had been unsuccessful and it turned into a recovery operation, Sanders explained.
A Hartland man was found dead in an apparent logging accident Thursday morning after he didn't return home Wednesday night. A family member discovered the man, who was reportedly in his 50s, pinned beneath a tree, and after rescuers arrived he was pronounced dead at the scene.
