The accident happened around 11:00am on I-64 westbound, west of mile marker 227, Old Stage Road. There is a 16 mile back up, VDOT is asking drivers going to Richmond to use US Route 460 as detour.
One killed, three hurt in accident on I-64 in James City County
Vicente Dolores Salinas-Avendano, who was riding in the back seat behind the driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Salinas-Avendano was not wearing a seat belt.
