James Terrell Cowles, 47, killed and 31-year-old man injured in single-vehicle crash into tree off of Richmond Road in James City County, Virginia

James City County, Va. '€“ One man is dead and another has been seriously injured in a crash in James City County. This happened just after 8 p.m. in the 9500 block of Richmond Road east of New Kent County/James City County. A 31-year-old New Kent County man was flown to the hospital with serious injuries. James Terrell Cowles, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say a 2000 Plymouth Neon was speeding on Richmond Road when the driver lost control causing it to run off the right side of the road  into an embankment and then into a tree.
