Chesapeake man dies in crash along I-64

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia State Police say a man died Friday after driving his vehicle into a tree in Chesapeake. A trooper was called to the single-vehicle crash around 12:10 p.m. A 2003 Ford Escape had traveled off I-64 West, just east of Battlefield Boulevard, and crashed into a tree, according to VSP Public Relations Director Corinne Geller. The driver, 74-year-old Terry Earley, of Chesapeake, was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he later died. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
