Dominic O’Neal McCray 25, killed, two others injured, taken to hospital, after their car leaves I-64 roadway and crashes into ditch.

A car crash on I-64 in Hampton Sunday morning killed one person and injured two others.

According to a press release from Virginia State Police, just before 2:00 a.m. Dominic O’Neal McCray, 25, of Hampton, lost control of the 2002 Buick regal he was driving, ran off the road and crashed into a ditch.

McCray was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Medics airlifted the person who was sitting in the front passenger’s seat to Sentara Norfolk General where they are listed in critical condition. A third person, who was sitting in the back passenger seat, was taken to Riverside Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not released any additional details on the circumstances surrounding the crash.
