Two killed in Norfolk fatal crash

The 6200 block of Sewells Point Road was closed for several hours, but has since been reopened.

Investigators are still working to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash. They did not say which person was driving when the SUV crashed.

Police identify Norfolk crash victims

Police have identified the victims as 24-year-old Anthony L. Davenport of South Main Streetr and 39-year-old Latrish D. Harris of Ruffin Street.
Just before 4 a.m., an SUV was headed south on the 6200 block of Sewells Point Road in Norfolk when it ran off the road, striking a Dominion Virginia Power pole. A man was pronounced dead at the scene. Two women were brought to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where one of them died and the other remains in serious condition. Excessive speed is believed to have played a role in the accident. No further information is available; we'll update this story as it develops.
