The eastbound lanes of a section of Route 460 have reopened following an early Thursday morning tractor trailer accident that closed them for nearly 10 hours, a city spokeswoman said.

The accident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on Pruden Boulevard, also known as Route 460, near Gardner Lane, said City of Suffolk spokeswoman in an email.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the tractor trailer lost control, ran off the road and struck a light pole, officials said. The driver was taken to Sentara Obici Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries
