Police name Chesterfield man killed in weekend crash

Police say David G. Holt lost control of his car, crossed into oncoming traffic and hit another car head-on around 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the 4400 block of South Old Hundred Road.

Chesterfield driver in fatal Old Hundred Rd. crash wasn’t wearing seat belt

A Toyota Camry driven by David G. Holt, 47,  was traveling north on South Old Hundred Road when the driver lost control, crossed into the southbound travel lane and struck a Nissan Versa head-on.
David G. Holt was driving on Old Hundred Road when he crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic and struck another car head-on. He was not wearing a seat belt and died atthe scene. The two people in the other car were transported to Chippenham Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

What was the CAUSE??? Was it speed, the sharpness of the curve, texting, alcohol/drug related, exhaustion??? The "not wearing a seat belt" doesn't explain what happened...just what determined the fate of Mr. Holt.
