Just before noon, a 2008 Chevy Impala was traveling west in the 1300 block of Dry Break Road when it ran off the right side of the road, according to Sergeant Michelle Anaya with Virginia State Police. Then the driver over corrected, ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

The driver, 34-year-old Aletha Cox Jones, was not wearing her seat belt and suffered injuries that led to her death at the scene, police said.

No further information has been released.
