Crash closes eastbound Franklin Street in downtown Richmond

To protect and to serve often means officers risk their lives and make sacrifices while on duty. That rings all too true to three Richmond police officers, shot while on the line of duty.

Car goes airborne on Franklin St., rolls multiple times, traps woman and child

The VW was airborne, and it then rolled multiple times before coming to a stop upside down, witnesses said. RICHMOND, Va. – Onlookers rushed to the help of a woman and child trapped in a sedan downtown. The gold VW seen flipped upside in the pictures was impacted by a separate accident. Tow trucks have arrived on scene but for now travel on that block of Franklin Street is not allowed. The accident happened just after  2 p.m. on Tuesday, at Franklin and 5th Streets.
