A prison transport driver is dead following an accident on State Route 3 in Fredericksburg, Virginia on Saturday. The Virginia Department of Corrections van was transporting prisoners nine prisoners on State Route 3 from a job site to the Stafford Men's Diversion Center when it veered off the road and crashed into trees. The driver, Dennis Toombs, 33, was sent to Mary Washington Hospital, where he later died. Several prisoners were also hopsitalized overnight.
