Man killed when tree hits car in Wash.

SULTAN, Wash. (AP) - A man in his mid-20s is dead after a tree toppled by high winds crashed into his car in Snohomish County. Sultan Fire Chief Merlin Halvorson says the tree landed on the car's roof directly over the driver's seat, and the man was killed instantly. The death came as rain and high winds snarled traffic and knocked out power to more than 100,000 people in the Puget Sound area. Puget Sound Energy reported nearly 129,000 customers out of service. The Washington State Patrol closed Interstate 90 between Vantage and George after a dust storm blotted out any visibility.
