Search for missing woman finds body in woods near Edmonds crash scene

Searchers looking for a woman who disappeared after a hit-and-run crashfound a body Thursday in a heavily wooded area near the crash scene, police said.

The woman, 48-year-old Amy Kennelly, has been missing since Monday night, when her car was found at the crash scene in the 11000 block of Algonquin Road in Woodway.

Officers received a report about the accident, which involved Kennelly's car and a piece of property, and began searching the area. "The officers responded and found the car, but no one was in it," said Sgt. Shane Hawley with the Edmonds Police Department.
