Pedestrian seriously injured in Hazel Dell crash

A woman walking with her dog on Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue was seriously injured Wednesday night when she was struck by a vehicle.

A woman walking with her dog on Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue was seriously injured Wednesday night when she was struck by a vehicle. The accident was reported at 9:16 p.m. in the 8600 block of Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue, across from Target. The northbound vehicle struck the woman as she crossed the roadway, according to the Clark County Sheriff's Office. The woman was transported to a local hospital, said Sgt. Fred Neiman, spokesman for the agency. The driver was uninjured and was cooperating with law enforcement. Because of the possible severity of the woman's injuries, the Clark County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit is investigating the crash. Investigators said they don't yet know if alcohol was a factor in the collision.
