According to the Washington State Patrol Press Memo, Christopher Weidemann, 45, of Anacortes was Traveling Eastbound on State Route 20 at the Spur, in a grey 2006 Kia Spectra (vehicle 1) when he crossed the double Center line and struck a Westbound blue 2001 Oldsmobile PT (vehicle 2) head-on.

Just before 10:00pm, a 45-year-old man driving on Highway 20 crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old man head-on. Both drivers sustained multiple fractures in the collision, but the 45-year-old man was knocked unconsious and had injuries that were considered life-threatening, while the 18-year-old man was conscious but still in serious condition.
