1 injured after car strikes bear in Grays Harbor County

The driver was not injured, the State Patrol said. The extent of the bear’s injuries wasn’t known.
At about 9:00pm, a car with 16-year-old male passenger struck a bear that was in the middle of Highway 12. Though the passenger was wearing a seat belt, it failed to properly restrain him, and he was injured enough to warrant being flown by helicopter to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. The driver of the car was not injured, and the condition of the bear is unknown.
