Crab truck crash turns Seattle viaduct into veritable invertibrate buffet
The Seattle Department of Transportation said the semi overturned on the Alaskan Way Viaduct portion of Highway 99 about 2:30 p.m. Monday when it collided with the viaduct railing.
Video from the scene shows heavy equipment scooping boxes and loose crabs from the roadway.
SDOT spokesman Norm Mah said the crabs were placed in a pickup truck by a front-end loader and then hauled to a dumpster for disposal.
