Customers left cards and flowers outside the market all day Thursday. They described the owner as a kind, generous woman who would give neighborhood kids treats, and was always willing to help out someone in need.

Police are searching for the driver, described as a white man in his mid-20s to 30s and wearing a grey zip-up jacket, and the theft suspect, a white man wearing a baseball cap and red shirt.

A convenience store owner in Sedro-Woolley died Thursday night after confronting a young man who stole beer. She was subsequently run over following an altercation in the parking lot.
