A Tacoma man who tried to cross Interstate 5 late Monday was struck by a car, according to the Washington State Patrol.
A Tacoma man who tried to cross Interstate 5 late Monday was struck by a car at about 10:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes at milepost 136 by the Puyallup River. The 41-year-old Tacoma man dressed in dark clothing was walking across the freeway when a 69-year-old Yelm man struck him with a 2005 Hyundai Elantra. The driver suffered minor facial injuries. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries. The State Patrol said the pedestrian appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
