WSP says drugs or alcohol may have been a factor, but the cause of the crash  is still under investigation.

One car fatality collision on Cedar Creek Road

55-year-old Keithley Gregory was not wearing a seat belt while off-roading in a meadow on the East side of 3400 Cedar Creek Road in a white 1995 Honda Passport.

One person was killed and two people injured in an off-roading accident near Ione, Washington which occurred at around 7:45 p.m. Saturday. The three people were driving a 1995 Honda Passport SUV off road in a meadow by Cedar Creek Drive just northwest of Ione. The vehicle went down a 30-foot embankment and came to rest on its side. The driver of the SUV, Gregory D. Keithley, died at the crash site. One passenger, Lisa A. Herron, was injured and transported to Newport Community Hospital. The other passenger, 34-year-old Jeremy A. Fraley, sustained minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital. No one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt.
