Wastewater crews were in the area performing construction work to help alleviate a localized flooding issue according to a statement sent out by The City of Spokane.

Spokane Police are investigating an incident where a pedestrian was hit by a City of Spokane vehicle early Tuesday morning.
A Spokane Wastewater Management truck ran over a pile of clothing and blankets on the roadside at South Geiger Boulevard and South Lewis Street about 7:00am, where a woman was unfortunately sleeping. The woman sustained severe injuries and was transported to the hospital, where she was eventually found dead. Check back for updates on the identity of the victim and more details on the crash.
