Fatal 2-Vehicle Accident Shuts Down Route 19 Outside of Clarksburg, Sends 5 To Hospital

The Spelter Fire Department, Harrison County EMS and the Harrison County Sheriff's Department are on scene. According to Harrison County 911, Route 19 is now open. Multiple agencies are responding to a two-vehicle accident on Route 19 near Jordan Auto Parts in Gore, according to Harrison County 911. Thursday, and according to the Harrison County Sheriff's Department, five people were transported to United Hospital Center. Harrison County 911 said the road will be closed for some time.

Authorities say the passengers in a 1995 White Chevy Silverado were traveling north on Route 19 towards Shinnston. Michael Bryan Mathena was a passenger in a Blue 1990 Chevy Silverado that struck a tree. Man Arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Marijuana Causing Death After Fatal Accident

A 30-year-old Fairmont man was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Route 19 outside of Clarksburg on Thanksgiving Day. Robert Skidmore Jr. was arrested and charged with DUI causing death after a Thanksgiving Day accident that killed Michael Mathena, according to the Harrison County Sheriff's Department. According to court documents, Robert Skidmore Jr., 25, was charged with driving under the influence of marijuana causing death after a Thanksgiving Day accident that killed Michael Mathena on Route 19. The white Silverado flipped onto its side in the ditch, and the blue Silverado ran off the road, striking a tree.
