2 people ejected when container truck crashes into overpass

A container truck accident that ejected both passengers occurred early Friday morning, state traffic officials said. A container truck was traveling eastbound on I-94 when it struck a Monroe County overpass bridge, according to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol. The collision caused damage to the bridge itself, and the two occupants were ejected from the truck through the windshield. Monroe County Highway Department and a State of Wisconsin DOT bridge inspector were inspecting the bridge Friday for travel worthiness and safety, state patrol said. The driver and passenger were not wearing seat belts, officials said.
