21-year-old killed in car vs. tree crash in Rock County

A 21-year-old was killed in a crash in Rock County when a car struck a tree early Saturday, officials said. The Rock County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on South River Road north of South Oakley Road in the town of Rock at 8:24 a.m. Deputies found a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero in the west ditch line of South River Road. The crash was still under investigation Saturday afternoon, but the sheriff's office said it appeared that speed was a contributing factor. The Alero was headed north on South River Road when it veered into the west ditch, causing the car to become air born before striking the trees.
