New Richmond man killed in freeway crash

The driver of the Silverado, the 22-year-old man from New Richmond, was ejected from the vehicle and killed. A 23-year-old female passenger from Clear Lake was airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with life-threatening injuries. A second passenger, a 24-year-old New Richmond man, was transported to Regions by ambulance with life-threatening injuries.

Killed was a 22-year-man from New Richmond, Wis., according to the patrol. Hospitalized were his passengers, a 24-year-old man from New Richmond and a 23-year-old woman from Clear Lake, Wis. The SUV's driver, a 53-year-old man from Colfax, Wis., was not hurt.

Twenty-two-year-old Michael Thomas Doering of New Richmond was killed after being ejected from his Chevrolet Silverado when he ran into a Chevrolet Suburban eastbound on I-94 near Baldwin. Doering was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
