There were 16 people on the bus, comprised of the driver, the Spooner High School volleyball coaching staff and their players. Saturday, north of Cumberland at Hwy. 63 and County Hwy. A school bus carrying high school volleyball players in western Wisconsin struck a car that ran a stop sign, killing two of three people in the smaller vehicle, and ended up partly submerged in a ditch, authorities said. The surviving car passenger was taken to Regions Hospital in St. B, '€œfailed to stop'€ for the northbound bus on Hwy. 63 and was hit on the driver'€™s side, according to the patrol.

2 Dead, 16 Injured in School Bus Crash in Wis.

Two people were killed and 16 were injured in a school bus and vehicle collision Saturday afternoon in Barron County, Wisconsin. Meanwhile, the school bus involved came to rest in a ditch partially filled with water, according to officers. According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 2:35 p.m. on U.S. Highway 63 at the junction of County Highway B, north of Cumberland. The players, coach staff members and bus driver were transported to Cumberland Memorial Hospital and were treated for their injuries. All bus passengers were able to exit through the emergency exit door at the back of the bus.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says initial reports indicate a car didn't stop for the northbound bus of the Spooner High School volleyball team. The school bus was sent into a ditch and was partially submerged in water. Tiffany Hostetler, 29, and her 3-year-old daughter, Elanora Hutton, were declared dead at the scene. WDIO-TV reports the crash happened north of Cumberland at 2:30 p.m.
