Vernal man dies in ATV rollover

 Alan Heiner, 37, was riding an ATV north on 3000 West in the community of Maeser when he failed to negotiate a turn near 2000 North, according to a Uintah County Sheriff’s Office news release. About 9:20 p.m., the ATV went off the road and struck multiple road signs, rolling once.
Alan Heiner, 37, of Vernal died after his all-terrain vehicle rolled in the community of Maeser Saturday night. Heiner was thrown from the ATV as it rolled, and died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Speed is believed to have factored into the crash.
